For Singapore to progress as a nation in the 21st century, and be taken seriously in the world community, the law must treat women in Singapore with dignity and equality. We must repeal this archaic law. Sexual intercourse in any circumstances must be with the consent of both parties. Anything else is an act of aggression, and must be treated as such. It would be a good idea if young people, during their school years, were informed of their rights and obligations in a relationship, for the protection of both men and women.

I do support this in principle, but as pointed out on the show "Get Rea!", this could also open up the possibility of abuse by women with an agenda against their (sometimes former) husbands. I support the repealing of this law so as to make marital rape illegal, while at the same time tightening measures to ensure that laws meant to protect women from rape will not be abused by them to seek vengeance against their (former) husbands, among other possible abuses.
