The arcane penal code does not reflect the values and expectations of both genders in the Singapore society of today. There must be equality for both genders in the institution of marriage. Rape is an unacceptable behavior (for both men and women) and should not be tolerated

Please consider this petition with compassion for the plight of women who may already be, or are in danger of being, in such a situation of violence within the "safety" of their own home. Violence and causing physical hurt to another human being is a criminal act irrespective of the place or the circumstance and the law must make this clear to men with such disordered inclinations of violence towards their own wives.
