A union is suppose to be a safe place for two people to grow together. No violence, physical, emotional or sexual should be tolerated. Rape is rape, even if it's perpetrated by a spouse.

The current law is obviously way out of date with the current times and barbaric and totally discriminatory towards women. we are still not equal in the eyes of the law. time to be rid of this historical law

Rape is rape is rape. Please ensure all rape is legally considered the crime that it is. Wives are partners, not possessions.

Non-consensual sex is rape, is abusive, it causes emotional turmoil, doesn't matter what status both party holds. It's a betray of trust n disrespect especially if it's actions of a spouse. It's human rights on one's own body. Law has got to protect and respect it.

I campaigned for such a change in the law in the UK and it was a very important shift in respecting women's rights. Singapore is now independent is should get rid of this out-dated colonial law.

I am very disappointed and utterly upset when I learn about this. How can we call ourself a modern society when such medival law exist.
As a woman myself, I do not feel respected by my country.
