If it is non-consensual, it is RAPE. There should be no exceptions and no immunity to those who commit it. The institution of marriage should be respected and it does not give licence for a man to force himself on his wife.

The current laws are outdated. They see rape as merely an act committed outside marriage, rather than a violent expression of dominance. Rape should not be defined by the surrounding circumstances, but by the nature of the act itself.

Longman Dictionary defines "Rape" as "to have sex with, against the woman's will" - when the sex is "against the woman's will" it constitute to rape. A Rape is A Rape - there should not be any difference whether the perpetrator and the victim are married. Although it is undeniable there maybe cases of false accusations, it is afterall a minority, as compared the number of women who have became "silent-suffers" of marital rape.
