It is time for people to be decent and stop abusing others for whatever selfish reasons. I am all for building a better tomorrow.

a slap's a slap - whether it be consensual or not. it hurts and it's humiliating. wouldn't it be the same for rape to? getting hurt and humiliated. hasn't it been proven that people are more generally raped by people who are close to them (relatives, friends, etc.). doesn't the same apply to husbands to wives?

Women deserve to have some form of protection from unconsensual sex from their husbands. Marriage does not automatically make rape right. The existing laws seem to perpetuate the belief that the wife is the property of her husband and he can do as he pleases and this is in a society where women are almost on the same standing as men.
