No person should have sex against his/her will. To be forced to do so is a violation of her (in this case) right to do with her body as she pleases: a right that is not only a civil right but is also one that is inseparable from her very nature of existence and experience. I therefore strongly believe that martial rape is ethically foul and is, in fact, no different from other cases of rape. The existence of the institution of marriage does not make forcing women into sex ethically correct.

Rape is rape - whether it happens within the confines of marriage or not. A man has no right to force himself onto his wife, regardless of what he believes (in terms of religion) and his marriage certificate. Marital abuse does not just comprise physical hits and punches, or verbal insults. Anything that hurts is abuse. And this includes non-consensual sex.
