Rape = non-consensual sexual penetration. The relationship status is irrelevant. Repealing this archaic law is the only civilised way forward.

Along with this repeal, I propose that public education on this matter is imperative. Since it is the local culture to not interfere with other's domestic matters, it's important that the abused spouse understands that such form of abuse is not part and parcel of marital relations between husband and wife. Similarly, any threats or blackmail to solicit marital relations is also a form of abuse. I look forward to the day when our law makers finally stop this silent acceptance of abuse.
