Please consider this obvious lack of sense. The UK has repaired this in R v R in 1991, and almost 2 decades later I hope our country can be conscious to this.

I support the petitiion to repeal Section 375(4) and Section 376A(5) of the Code and bring about the total abolition of marital rape immunity.

Rape of any kind against anyone is a violent and abonimable act not to be condoned by any civil society. Marriage does not require an individual to give up their right or ability to protect themselves against violent acts.

What if marital rape causes an unwanted pregnancy? This will cause onus on the wife to cause an unwarranted abortion. Why does the wife have to suffer this agony? Woman now already have multiple roles of child-bearing, child-caring and working in society, especially in Singapore. Why are they not given equal rights when they contribute that much to society?
